While many of CDTC’s patients are children, we do have a growing number of adult patients with a variety of physical and phycological conditions, that also participate in the therapy program. Regardless of the age of the individual, one of the keys to success in rehabilitation is the support and care given by their families and caregivers. This group of devoted and loving people are the most important pillars in the patient’s lives. At CDTC, we are all too aware of the pivotal role they play in the patient’s life and therefore in the success of the program. The program is designed extremely challenging for everybody as the family is closely involved. Daily evaluations of the sessions with the family are key in the ongoing process of working towards achieving the goals. Support to the family members is provided by counseling sessions, a variety of interesting workshops and many other valuable opportunities to connect with themselves, their loved ones and reach a higher stage of consciousness. For the siblings we have created a special program in the Siblingsprogram. Through fun and educational experiences we stimulate an even deeper connection with their disabled brother and sister and build on their self esteem. Experiencing CDTC’s program as a family makes it easier to put the positive results into practice once returned home. It leads to greater awareness and empathy, and makes the entire experience more rewarding.
